F.A.Q

We are very proud of the fact that all our prints from digital files are made on photographic paper, the optimum way to achieve top quality results. We produce these prints using the world renowned Durst Lambda Laser Imager which offers the highest possible image quality and resolution available anywhere today. Printing at 400ppi - a resolution well beyond the human eye - coupled with Kodak Endura long life papers of up to 200 years print life longevity  for an unbeatable combination. Whereas most imaging software only allows images to be saved as DPI files, we actually print as PPI (pixels per inch). The advantages of this is that pixels are square and adjoin each other so the lasers expose all of the area to be processed and do not leave the gaps between the circular dots associated with inkjet printing.

Help to send files by our Wed Uploader

(1) We will only print files sent to us in a folder. The folder name must be your email address.

(2) Please only upload jpeg files, tiff files may take 8 times longer. Make sure the file extension is included at end of file name .jpg

(3) All files are print on kodak Lustre paper (matt finish).

(4) All file names should state the size and quantity you require befor the file name ie(DSC0022 8x6 1x.jpg).

(5) If you require glossy prints please type glossy after the file name. ie (DSC0022 glossy 8x6 1x.jpg)

(6) Do not use illegal characters in the file name / , ! % & () = +  etc.

(7) Untagged files (no allocated colour space) will be printed in sRGB.

(8) Restrict the file name to the minimum number of digits to avoid errors occuring. Checking a four or six digit number is much more accurate than trying to cope with one of 15-20 digits. The favoured system that many choose is to have a Disc Number followed by the Image Number i.e. 88-5555 or Disc88-5555.

(9) For Black & White prints we recommend you convert your files to Greyscale. We frequently receive desaturated files and whilst this is a popular route it does not give an accurate tonal range.
